In practice however solicitors do the majority of court work and barristers do much office work When a client has a problem or needs advice they will go to a solicitor. Solicitors will give legal advice to clients, confer with clients and prepare cases for trial. Solicitors also draft documents conduct negotiations for example they are involved when someone is buying or selling a house. Solicitors usually work in partnerships of for large companies.
