Jon Spies 11/05/02 Essay #2 Guilty! Everybody hates to be bugged. People getting asked questions that you don't know how to respond to and then they keep on asking a series of questions can drive someone up a wall. The "great" philosopher Socrates was one of those people that bugged everyone. The series of interrogating questions was even named the Socratic Method. Socrates was even put to trial for corrupting the youth and atheism because of the way he talked to people. If I was on the jury for his trial I would've voted guilty for corrupting the youth. One of the reasons why I would convict Socrates is that he is trying to change the way people think. When speaking with others Socrates raised questions about the Athenian government and Athenian ideals. Nothing was wrong with the way people thought before Socrates. Athens was very prosperous so there wasn't a need for change. When...
