EXPLAIN THE RULE OF INTERPRETATION AND DISCUSS THE EXTENT OF EACH RULE AND THE EFFECT TO INTENTION OF PARLIAMENT The rule of interpretation is some element of choice by judge's s to which one to use. The so-called rules are more in the nature if approaches or methods of interpretation. There are three types of rules the literal rule, mischief rule and the golden rule. The literal rules have been regarded as the traditional approach although we will see that there was in fact an older rule. Under the literal rule words and the expression are given their normal and proper meanings. The literal rule was used in the case of Darby v D.P.P 1994. Under the police and criminal evidence act 198 section 69 any document used in evidence had to be certified as correct by a senior police officer.
