Barristers + Solicitors comparison A) Describe the main differences between barristers and solicitors in regard to their training and work. Here in England and in Wales we use an unusual law system. The unusual part about it is it has 2 legal professions - solicitors and barristers, where as in countries such as France, Germany, and U.S.A. etc. they have opted for only 1 profession - solicitors. The reason that we have opted for there to be two legal professions is that it allows the general public to have access to the best advice that they can get and at a reasonable price. This would not be true if the two where joined as they all would each charge fees according to their ability.
