An Investigation into the legal profession 1) Find out about the qualification and training people need in order to become either a solicitor, barrister or legal executive. Solicitor In order to become a solicitor, a person must go through a long and grueling process of both education and apprenticeship. The first thing a person requires is either a law degree or any degree plus a diploma in law. After receiving these the person then has to do a legal practice course which last for a total of one year. Here the trainee solicitor will receive approximately £6000-£7000 in wages. After doing this they will receive a training contract paid by the Law Society. The trainee will then do this for a period of two years. After they have completed the two year course the trainee then has to go out on a 20 day professional skills course. Finally after all this training the...
