It looks at cases such as murder, rape and robbery. The Crown Court carries out four main principles such as jury trails, appeals from the magistrates, sentencing those convicted from the magistrate's court and sentencing those that are convicted at a Crown Court. The physical layout of the court consisted of the judge sitting in a raised platform in front. He appeared from the side door of the platform, followed by a 'court rise' from the usher who was sited near the door. Everyone rose up to show respect until he was sited.
