Synopsis For my major work, I wanted to study a topic that involved Australia, Economics, Politics and History. As an example I suggested to my Extension History teacher the instance of the dismissal of Gough Whitlam in 1975, he then suggested the dismissal of John Thomas (Jack) Lang, a NSW premier, who also was dismissed by the Governor during the depression, that is nearly a half a century prior to Gough Whitlam's dismissal. I was intrigued to think that history was repeating itself and especially surprised that I knew nothing of this dismissal of Jack Lang, despite it being a major part of Australian History and a contentious issue that has many modern day implications over our current constitutional system.
