Derek Bentley - "A victim of British justice?" Derek Bentley and his friend Christopher Craig were trying to get into a warehouse and when managing to get up onto the roof, a neighbour reported a robbery occurring. When the police arrived at the scene, Craig started shooting at the officers and hit DC Fairfax, who was wounded but not dead, and PC Miles, killing him. Both the boys were charged for the murder of PC Miles and both boys were found guilty. Craig served 10 years and Bentley was hung on the 28th of January 1953. The case of Derek Bentley is a controversial case because there not is enough evidence to prove he's innocent, and/or guilty.
