Justice in a legal sense can be defined as the 'just behaviour or treatment of an individual and the administration of law or some other authority according to the principles of just behaviour and treatment.' (Oxford English Dictionary, 2005) This essay will look at the concept of justice and examine what we mean by justice and the historical and contemporary ideas that have come about to affect how justice is served to the many. It will look closely at alternative ideas of justice and take into account ideas about how justice can be understood and ways in which it may be misplaced in society.
