Criminal Law Assume that there is new evidence that Ralph either forced Hasnah to take the methadone or that he injected her himself. The later events were as described above but there is evidence that the delay in calling for an ambulance was deliberate; he did not want her to go to hospital until it was 'too late'. Ralph is considering admitting that he had intended to cause Hasnah's death, but wants to know whether he has a defence. He has indicated that he was so angry with her about the bigamy and its implications that he "just lost it". He could not see any solution other than "getting her out of the way". Consider whether Ralph would have a defence to a murder charge.
