"Stephen, a chef, leaves his employment after a dispute about the salary owed to him by his employer, Monsieur Alain, proprietor of the salubrious restaurant in which he has been working. Some days Later, Stephen at the restaurant in heavy disguise. He orders and consumes a lavish meal and a bottle of the Marques de Riscal. At the end of the meal he removes his disguise and announces his intention to leave without paying. Monsieur Alain calls the Gardai. When they arrive he complains to them about Stephens refusal to pay for the meal or the whine. Stephen is arrested and while still on the property he is found to have concealed on his person some silverware, which is identified as the property of the restaurant." I am to advise Stephen of his criminal liability as a result of the facts above. The case in hand concerns offences against property...
