Revisiting the four points of future research on consideration sets raised by Roberts and Lattin (1997) Bachelor thesis Marketing Management Tilburg University Author: Marcel Kleintjens S637614 Supervisor: Dr. R.D. van Oest Date: May 2005 Abstract The summary paper on consideration sets by Roberts and Lattin (1997) leaves 4 points in which they believe more research is needed. These 4 points are dynamics of consideration, shape of the consideration set, retrieval and recall and consumer decision rules. Eight years have passed since that paper was published, so it becomes interesting to know what research has been done and what the findings of these researches are. To fully understand the impact of these 4 points, first the basic theory behind consideration set is examined. From this basic knowledge point, the 4 points will be treated and an overview of research done in each area will be given.
