Contract Assignment Introduction The law of contract was created so "that men of full age and competent understanding shall have the utmost liberty in contracting and that their contracts, when entered into freely and voluntarily shall be held sacred and shall be enforced by the courts of justice"1. Therefore a contract is "a promise or a set of promises for the breach of which the law gives a remedy or the performance of which in some ways recognises a duty"2. In order for a contract to be formed there must be an offer, which is made by the offeror, Algernon and an acceptance of such an offer by Montgomery (offeree).
