Contract law is often described as the foundation of the legal system and has been developed over the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Scot's contract law has its own unique identity and tradition of deducing the law from principles decided and held in the Scottish Courts. In order to explain the rules governing acceptances in Scotland it is necessary to consider the definition and formation of a contract first then focus on the famous case authorities and principles of law, which have been applied to present-day law cases.
