1. Introduction and Overview The "Six Thinking Hats" provides a quick, simple and powerful technique to improve your thinking. The author, Edward de Bono, does this by encouraging you to recognize what type of thinking you are using, and to apply different types of thinking to the subject - whatever it may be. There are six metaphorical hats and each defines a certain type of thinking. You can put on or take off one of these hats to indicate the type of thinking you are using.
