Science Essay-"Science produces understanding, not facts" To say that science produces an all out truth, and that it is totally certain is an unjustified claim. Science does not produce facts; it produces an understanding of how things are/work in our world. The goal of science is to provide a way to come as close as we can to understanding the cause-effect realities of the natural world. Science is a process that can only produce "possible" to "highly probable" explanations for natural phenomena (a basic understanding of how things work); these are not certainties. With new information, tools, or approaches, earlier findings (theories, or even facts) can be replaced by new findings. Basically, science does not provide us with an all embracing truth because any natural law that is devised is not 100% correct and can never be proved to be certain and it has the potential to...
