We can see empirically from the world around us and from countless experiences that a human being within time changes in numerous ways. The question that is to be answered here is essentially one to do with sameness of a human being and of personal identity. For example, I would indeed claim to be the same human being if even if my little finger was chopped off. I would also claim to be the same person even if both my arms and both my legs were amputated.
