God Connecting to Humans Religion is part of everyday life. Everyone and everything is effected by religion on a daily bases. Everyone has different views and different meanings on religion which may be good or may be bad. In the three poems, The Pulley, God's Grandeur, and Church Going, each writer has a different view on religion but at the same time poses a common thread. In George Herbert's The Pulley shows the idea of God pulling humans toward him with a tool, a pulley. In this poem, God leaves one blessing absent while creating human beings and this blessing was rest. In leaving this jewel out, God thought that restlessness will throw humans into his "breast", in other words pulling humans toward him. In God's Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins, he posses the thought that God's grandeur, God's magnificence, is like a burning flame and God would not stop helping...
