Descartes précis on meditation one Section one sets out reasons for which one may doubt all knowledge and explains how one may be set free from the senses. In being released from the senses one is able to have a more concrete view of the "known" world in the future. When the author feels he has reached the appropriate stage in life he states that he will deliver himself of all of his prior beliefs and goes on to explain this. He discusses only those subjects upon which he has a view. He feels that one should not believe in anything absolutely, and that one can only with varying degrees trust one's senses. He also states that if one doubts something, even if it is only a little then the subject should be held in the same way as something which is known to be a falsehood. He does trust his senses...
