The essential spirit of the founding principles of the United States is about the ideas from the Enlightenment and the puritan beliefs from Christianity. These two elements play a vital role in the process of build up the constitutions and laws of America and it is the mixture of the two spirits that model the United States at that time. The Enlightenment is the rise of rationalism and it also combines the ways of thinking of humanism, the Renaissance and the Reformation. On the other hand, in puritan beliefs, people think that human dignity and equality is given by God and people easily make mistakes.
