... Why was France slower to experience "industrial revolution" than Britain? Britain has been known as one of the leading Industrial countries in Europe, apart from France. But why Britain was much more forward than France was much upon the way each country functioned and the way they pursued their industrial policies. Firstly, the time frame. One of the key factors why France was behind Britain was the time wher they kicked-off their industrialization. Britain, had started industrializing at the mid to end 18th centuru firstly with its agriculture and so on. [Explain] The population changes which started out and a rapid drop in mortality saw that Britain's population would rise quickly; partly also due to better diet, because of early agricultural reforms, that also paved the way for Britain's 'take-off' to industralisation. [Increased labour, increased demand] This is clearly contrasting to France, because France was affectde by political instability suring the late 18th
