The image of the Celtic warrior is often portrayed as being a wild and furious fighter. This image is still reveled in in some of the Celtic nations when it comes to modern day sporting events. There are many accounts that suggest that Polybius account is true. However, the only literary sources that we have are those written by both the Greeks and the Romans, as a result these sources are biased and we have little evidence to go against them. We can however interpret some of the accounts in aspects of what we would class as organised in modern day warfare. The Greeks and the Romans had very well organised professional armies.
