Greek cities Greek cities are basically comprised of the following items; the acropolis, an enclosing city wall, residential districts, one or more leisure and cultural areas, a harbour and port, and possibly an industrial district. Greek cities had 'twin foci', the acropolis and the agora. The agora was the multi-purpose everyday heart. The acropolis was originally a defensive hill top nucleus of the older Greek cities. The acropolis either evolved into the religious centre of the city, as at Athens, or became deserted...
