What are the main differences and similarities between the sanctuaries on the Athenian Acropolis and Olympia? Which do you feel makes better use of the space available? Include discussion of individual buildings, the sanctuary complexes as a whole and the purpose of the sanctuaries. Comparing the Athenian Acropolis and the Sanctuary of Olympia, there are several differences between the two, likewise there are also similarities. However, I strongly believe the the Sanctuary of Olympia makes better use of its available space. This is because its buildings are spread out on the large plain where Olympia is located. A very important factor concerning both these sanctuaries is that they are both designed for the worship of two main deities. At the Acropolis, the Goddess Athina mainly and Artemis when there is a space, are worshipped.
