The Czech Republic The Czech Republic is situated in the center of Europe. It has an area of about 78,000 sq. km. and a population of over 10 million. It is bordered on the west by Germany, on the north by Poland, on the east by Slovakia, and on the south by Austria. The Czech Republic is composed of Bohemia, Moravia, and part of Silesia. Prague is the Capital of both the Czech Republic and Bohemia, while Brno if the capital of Moravia. The country is divided into 8 regions: Prague, Central Bohemia, North Bohemia, South Bohemia, West Bohemia, East Bohemia, North Moravia, and South Moravia.
