Weapons and Equipment The Pila The pila was a short javelin, used by the front ranks of the army. They almost invariably came in pairs, a heavy and a light. The lighter one was thrown first, as it would go farther. The Sword Sword: parallel sides, and a tapered tip. The Dagger The daggers were used as a last resort, if all your other weapons were to fail, and just as a knife for miscellaneous other things.
