Introduction Ancient Rome is notorious for its gruesome games, and it is clear that Entertainment played an enormous part in the life of the Romans, but why? By studying the buildings that were the hosts to the games, we are able to get a better understanding of the nature of the games that were held there and perhaps appreciate why they were so popular. Also by looking at what needs they were fulfilling in their construction, because size may indicate popularity. You could, for example, look at why the buildings were built in the first place and their history since they were built.
