Humanism is the name given to the intellectual, literary, and various scientific movements through out time. It can also be considered a movement which is aimed at basing every sphere of learning on the literature and culture of classical antiquity and has many different roots and themes in early Greek culture, it also defined the Renaissance era, and is found all through out modern society today. "Humanism is the idealistic belief that highlights the dignity and merit of the individual" (Worldnet).
