Explain the contribution of Assyrian royal inscriptions for knowledge of Israelite and Judean histor Introduction. By working through the Assyrian royal inscriptions chronologically I will try to view the Israelite and Judean history. Where it is possible, I will include the aspects of the Aramean and Philistine history, which are of interest for the history of Israel and Judah, and are given in the Assyrian inscriptions. If the Biblical text gives extra light or a sort of interpretation of the events mentioned in the Assyrian text I will refer to it, not as evidential but to give a more satisfactory picture of the events.
