Paul Richardson June 2007. UNIT 116 For this essay we have been asked to examine what are the principles which underpin assessment in teaching. Durham PCT relies heavily on ASDAN and Open College Network (OCN). In addition to this I as young men's educator am at liberty to allow Recognition and Recording of Progress and Achievement (RARPA) certificate. I shall endeavour to give an overview of these courses and their relevance to my training that I deliver to young people within communities and in more formal education settings. In partnership with accrediting bodies we also need to examine the methods of assessment which are carried out to validate the courses being delivered and more so their relativity. The principles of good assessment practice are the same in any learning environment. Any assessment practice should be valid and measure intended objectives; should be reliable and consistent; should be flexible using a variety of methods...
