Matthew Kim Ms. Huellemeier English 112-24 2/28/08 Rogerian Argument FD Abortion Abortion has been a controversial issue since the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973. The outcome of this case was that Abortion granted women the right to eliminate an unwanted pregnancy, based on a fundamental right to privacy. Some argue that the decision should be weighted against competing state interests in maternal safety and the protection of prenatal life. Other arguments that exist are religious reasons. Dominate religions such as Roman Catholicism and Christianity believe abortion to be a serious crime or sin. They believe that the birth of a child is not something that should be thrown away, but rather cherished. With all these arguments in mind, abortion should not be guaranteed to the pregnant mother. Many believe that life in the womb is not a human because it is not fully developed to be classified as a human (Slick 1996)....
