'Teachers' is a comedy that is based on the lives of the teaching faculty at Summerdown secondary school in the city of Bristol. I plan to investigate how the different aspects of this school are represented in this television programme and how it is different from a traditional school. The majority of the characters in Teachers are, obviously teachers. There is a group of four teachers who we see for the majority of the series, they consist of Simon Casey, Susan Gately, Brian Steadman, Kurt McKenna, although these teachers have individual personalities, they do share similar characteristics as detailed later in my essay. Other teachers that play a significant role in the programme are Jenny a science teacher, and Clare Hunter the Headteacher.
