Reema Shabo -"Should Students Pay to Repeat Courses they fail?" March 1st, 2003 Throughout schools across the nation, numerous students fail thousands of different classes. Reasons for failure may vary from a lack of effort, medical problems, excessive absences, and many other reasons. Budgets for public schooling have been reduced tremendously. As a result of the failing grades of many students, the school system has to extract additional money to pay for the education of these students. Should the students and their families be forced to pay for the courses that each student needs to retake? There is much confusion over this. Circumstances play a large role in the differing situations--- medical conditions, learning disabilities, and a simple lack of initiative. Adolescents throughout the world are cursed with horrible diseases and accidents, which call for medical attention. At times, it is plain, old bad luck that brings the need for assistance. When a...
