... What dose SENDA (2001) set out to do? How far is inclusion of all children with A/SEN possible within mainstream school? In this essay I am going to discuss what SENDA is, its history and the purpose of setting out this legislation and its follow up. Since SENDA was established in 2001, it made significant changes to the educational opportunities of disabled students and those with special educational needs and has helped to improve inclusion in school dramatically. However, how far inclusion of all children with SEN is possible within mainstream school is still the big question for us. I am also going to talk about this issue here later in my essay. What SENDA stands for? According to Office of Public Sector Information, it stands for The Special Educational Needs and Disability Act and also known as Disability Discrimination Act Part IV.
