Running Head: FROM THE WEAVING LOOM TO THE KEYBOARD From the Weaving Loom to the Keyboard Abstract Even with strategic planning in change management, sometimes there are unavoidable casualties during the process (Jager, 2003). In the case of a major change that involves a multitude of systems and individuals, it is difficult to predict the chain reaction of events and thus the number of casualties. This chain reaction, or domino effect, occurs when the outcome of one event results in a series of related events (Free Dictionary, n.d.). Similar to the game where one falling domino causes a line of other dominoes to fall, the slightest intervention can cause unexpected results. Year after year, America's textile industry has met strong competition with overseas markets (Davidson, 2003).
