Debussy An essay on the techniques of early modern composers. For Dr Jane Schopf This essay looks at the different ways of composing music when comparing early modern music to the traditional tonal music of the previous generations. An important part of the development of early modern music was the mixing of cultures due to better and increased travel. Bringing with it new sounds scales and ideas. Also personal beliefs changed allowing for the realization that it was not wrong to do it your way. The essay will also show the traditional tonal music, so that we can better understand the differences that came with the early modern genre, especially when applied to rhythm, melody, harmony, and in some ways tone colour, due to new instruments and different ways of using the traditional orchestral instruments.
