Midterm Paper The Evolution of Dub Music To really understand the roots of Dub reggae music one must delve into the Jamaican music scene of the late sixties and early seventies. The economic state of Jamaica has always seemed to dictate the direction the music industry has took both for the consumer as well of the producers of music. Not that many people could afford to buy records in Jamaica which posed a great risk for every release a producer had. This helped create the essential role of the Jamaican Dancehall. The Dancehall was a place where many potential releases where previewed to see the reaction the crowd had to the record.
