UPS PROJECT DANIEL PARKINGTON JAMES CATTERAL Criteria for choosing site: Location The site occupies a prime position on the corner of Melbourne street and Gibson Street close to the Newbridge street to the North and Quayside to the South. Manors Metro station is a short 300m walk west. The site is well served by Newcastle Airport and Newcastle central railway station. The site as highlighted on the map is approximately 1.1 Ha (2.92 Acres). The site is also adjacent to the Ouseburn regeneration area. The regeneration area has been developed round the urban village concept, which is based on the mixed case approach. The environmental quality of the area is gradually improving with the development of new housing leisure uses, and the development of the site will contribute towards the process of improvement.
