Public sector Central or local governments largely fund public sector organisations, which also influence their strategies and policies. In this sector there are organisations like the British Tourist Authority. Private sector Private sector organisations are directly or indirectly in private ownership. Their main aim is usually to generate profit from their services and products that they provide to the public.
