Singapore Industries What is a science park? A science park is a property-based initiative which has formal operational links with a university or other higher educational or research institution, designed to encourage the formation and growth of knowledge-based business and other organizations normally resident on site; has a management function which is actively engaged in the transfer of technology and business skills to the organizations on site. Elaborate on two factors that influence the sitting of the Science Park. One factor would the proximity of the site. The National University of Singapore and national University hospital is located a stone throw away from the science park, thus this would enable enables an exchange of ideas and foster greater interaction amongst them. There are also many established high-tech companies located near the Science Park, for example Chartered Semi-Conductors. Also the Teletech Park is located next to the Science Park.
