Equal Opportunities in the Hyatt Hotel 'Managing diversity is about the realisation of the potential of all employees... certain group based equal opportunities policies need to be seriously questioned, in particular positive action targets' (Kandola & Fullerton, 1994:47) The Hyatt hotel corporation abides by all four legislation, which underpins the concept of equal opportunity. 'Legislation refers to the Act of parliament passed by central government e.g. Health and Safety at work'. (Yovell, R.2001: 127) The four legislation's are: the Race Relations Act 1976, Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Equal Pay Act 1975. The Race Relations Act 1976 makes it unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of colour, race, nationality or ethnic origin.
