Stuart Gibson 0000258 Micro-project #1 Attitudes towards purchasing '3G' technology Abstract The following study was aimed at ascertaining the extent to which current mobile phone users would be susceptible to upgrading to '3G' mobile phone technology. Through the employment of an initial focus group, issues regarding the upgrading of mobile phone technology were raised. These issues were used to design an eleven-point questionnaire. The data obtained from the aforementioned questionnaire identified several interesting areas for further study in regard to current mobile phone user's intentions of possible upgrading of mobile phone technology. The questionnaire results identified the following points of interest. Firstly attitudes' towards the purchasing '3G' technology were rather negative with 66.7% of responses ranging from 'no, waste of money' to 'happy with existing mobile technology'. Contrasting the 33.3% of positive response ranging through 'interested in buying at a later date' to 'planning on buying a.s.a.p.'
