Carling beer all started with a guy named Thomas Carling he began a small brewing production in London, Ontario and Canada and was selling the beer to soldiers at military camp. In the event of his death, his sons William and John took over, naming it W & J Carling Brewing Co. John later died in 1911 and since then the company has changed owners a number of times. Carling black label first became available to the market in1977 and in 1999 achieved its first saes of 1 billion pints in UK, which strengthen its position to be the No 1 in selling beer.
