Definition of marketing In my opinion marketing is the entire business of selling goods including product, price, promotion and packaging. These factors are always involved in setting up a new business or managing a business that is already up and running. Promotion or advertising involves creating, increasing and sustaining public awareness of the business. Advertising is very important for any business, particularly if that business is in completion, where, success depends on whether potential customers want to by one companies product over another's. All businesses constantly need to advertise in some form whether it is by word of mouth or expensive T.V advertising. Packaging is important in to ways.
