Asda's food-retailing instry will be examined. This report will split into two sections, the first part will be a description of how the organisation competes within the supermarket industry. As up until 1995 Sainsbury's was the UK's leading supermarket chain. Then the chain store has been taken over by one of its biggest rivals Tesco, who have taken the industries coverted number one spot. But also emerging as a major force in the supermarket sector is Asda who have also been taken over by Wal-Mart. Asda is gaining market share more rapidly than any other competitors.. .
