Marketing has become to play a vital role in the cultural sector and a significant number of books have been published on the subject. Arts marketing is said to be very different from traditional marketing, since it consists very much of cultural development and delivering a service to a certain audience. In this essay I will discuss in how far marketing begins the day a product is first conceived, and not the day it is ready for presentation to the audience.
