Using your knowledge of ethics and social responsibility, critically analyse the following statement: "The obligation of organisations to make a profit is incompatible with a socially responsible approach to business. Consequently, profit-driven organisations are unethical". Introduction Traditionally corporations have been perceived to have been created for the sole purpose of making profit. In recent times along with other factors, social responsibility has become a major issue for corporations to deal with. With the issues of corporate responsibility arising, it directly contradicts a business's purpose to exist only for profit making. This essay will identify what these social responsibilities are and 'why an organisation needs to make such social responsibilities?'
