Essential Qualities of a Leader When a group nominates and elects you as their leader, they choose you because they believe you have the essential qualities to fit the criteria of a "Leader". They place their trust in you and believe that you will always make the right decision. Becoming a leader is not an easy job. It may take only one day or maybe a whole year, but no matter becoming leader is challenging. You need to have confidence in yourself and your team; a group only exists when each and every member can depend on each other. Confidence is what bonds your team-mates together but too much confidence can break this bond too. A very high self-esteem is also an essential quality of a Leader.
