Change Management University of Phoenix ONO4MBA08 November 22, 2004 Organizational Change Organizational transformations are overflowing with uncertain consequences, organizational politics, and various forms of employee resistance (Mc Shane-Von Glinsow, 2002). External factors and internal factors can weigh heavily on the success of a change process. For change to be successful, organizations must recognize that resistance to change is a normal reaction. Change needs no introduction. Change is everywhere, it is inevitable, and dealing successfully with it is critical to an organization's success (Kudray & Kleiner, 1997). Lewin's force field analysis model states that all systems have driving and restraining force and change occurs through the process of unfreezing, changing, and refreezing. Effective change occurs by unfreezing the current situation, moving to a desired condition, and then refreezing the system so that it remains in the desired state (Mc Shane-Von Glinsow, 2002).
