Heuristic evaluation is an essential element of systems' development. Of the usability inspection methods, heuristic evaluation is the most popular. The process of heuristic evaluation is a systematic inspection of the design of a user interface for usability. The aim of heuristic evaluation is to discover problems with usability in the design so that they can be attended to as part of an iterative design process. Heuristic evaluation consists of having a small group of evaluators critically examine the interface and note any usability errors with regards to a set of principles known has the heuristics of a system. The most well known heuristics are defined by Nielsen (1994) as: ? Visibility of system status The system should always give feedback of what is happening, swiftly. ?
